Fire damage cleaning in Council property

We were asked to attend a local authority property that had been affected by smoke damage from a neighbouring property that had suffered a fire.

Our Technician Lee took his team along to assess the damage and fed back his findings to the Claims Handlers in the office. Lee was able to upload his video and photographic evidence of the damage caused by the soot throughout the property.

This is always helpful for the Loss Adjusters and Insurers to show exactly what damage has occurred and why the Technician would recommend a particular course of action to remedy the situation.

While Lee and his team began work stabilising the property, the Claims Handler was busy feeding the information gathered into their report.

The Report provides the Insurer or Loss Adjuster with a breakdown of restoration recommendations and associated costs in order that they can make an informed decision on whether or not we can proceed with cleaning and restoration works.

Once written authorisation has been received by the Claims Handler, this is fed back to the lead Technician onsite who will then instruct his team on what needs to be done and in what order it should be completed.

By appointing a lead Technician to each job, we can ensure that person will take responsibility for the job in hand and ensure that each task is completed to the best possible standard.

By using our special fire damage chemicals Lee and his team were able to successfully restore most areas including the bathroom in the property which saved the insurer hundreds of pounds in replacement items and specialist trades eg Plumbers/builders etc) costs. Lee also cleaned and sanitised the carpets throughout the property, which helped to eradicate the lingering smell of soot which attaches itself to all fibres in the property.
